Cool Weather and Cereal (Yum!)

Hey everyone!

It feels like fall here! It’s been in the sixties today (and was even cooler yesterday) and I LOVE it. Yesterday it was actually overcast and it even rained. I went for a three-mile run and practically stared at the sky the whole time with a huge grin on my face. I love rainy days – in moderation. I’m too emotionally unstable (haha) to live somewhere where it rains constantly, but a good thunderstorm once in a while is the best. In fact, I think my all time favorite weather is those minutes right before a storm rolls in. The sky becomes bloated with the smell of rain, the temperature drops drastically, and the wind dances as the clouds turn everything the most stunning shades of purple and gray and blue.  I love it.

This morning I got up at 5:45 to go to the gym before work, and it was so dark and chilly walking down Hollywood Blvd. It was wonderful!

I really just can’t believe that it’s practically the holiday season. Nom nom nom I just want to eat autumn and winter.

So what else is new. Hmm.

Hmm, what else? Oh! I tried to stop eating cereal.

That probably sounds so incredibly random, but you guys, I have a serious addiction to cereal. I eat it all the time. Breakfast. Snacks. Dessert. It’s my favorite. And I have this weird thing where I can’t eat just one type of cereal (like the opposite of OCD…which I also have). I like to mix as many kinds of cereal together in one bowl as possible.

For example:
*crunchy raisin bran
*a least two kinds of weird, organic cereals
*my homemade granola
*cinnamon life
*any other boxes of cereal on top of the fridge (except mini wheats…ew)

The more flavors and textures the better!

Anyway, I’m obsessed with cereal and have been for probably the past five years at least. I don’t want ice cream or cake for dessert…I want a bowl of cereal. I seriously crave granola more than I crave any other sweet food item.

And I guess it’s a good thing my indulgence is relatively healthy. But I dunno, I felt like I needed to shake it up a little bit and make sure devouring cereal wasn’t just a habit.

So (this is the most exciting story ever, am I right?), I decided to try and go without.
Guess how long that lasted?

Two days.

And I bitched and moaned about it the entire time.

And made my own granola (which I decided didn’t “count” as cereal since I made it with my own two hands).

I have no will power y’all. Not when it comes to my favorite food.

Cake Batter Granola!

Yesterday I caved and went to the grocery store, stocked up on four different types of cereal, went home, and poured myself a giant, mixed bowl of deliciousness.

Oh well.
